The White Man's World

Delve into the intricate history of race relations with White Man's World by Bill Schwarz, published by Oxford University Press in 2013. This compelling paperback spans 592 pages and offers a thought-provoking analysis of the ideological landscape surrounding the white man during the last century of the British Empire.

Beginning with Enoch Powell's infamous 'Rivers of Blood' speech from 1968, Schwarz takes readers on a deep exploration of the racial assumptions that influenced the establishment of colonial Australia, South Africa, and Rhodesia—regions that came to be identified as 'white men's countries.'

This meticulously researched volume is essential for anyone interested in the intersection of history, race, and colonialism. Join Schwarz on a journey through time to examine how these ideas have shaped perceptions and realities in the United Kingdom and beyond.
