Science and Religion

Science and Religion assesses the impact of social, political and intellectual change upon Anglican circles, with reference to Oxford University in the decades following the French Revolution and Napoleonic wars. In particular the career of Baden Powell, whose son founded the Boy Scout movement, provides material for a case study in intellectual and political reorientation.
